Our County needs oversight and transparency to ensure the health and safety of all. Join the Coalition as we work fight Big Cannabis interests in Santa Barbara County, and seek basic, reasonable regulations on commercial cannabis cultivation.

Contact your Board of Supervisors:

We encourage you to reach out to your District Supervisor and let them know that you want to see changes to our cannabis ordinance. The changes we seek are simple:

  1. Property Line Odor Testing: We propose the implementation of property line odor testing standards for all cannabis grows. This measure will ensure that odor emissions are contained within the cultivation site, significantly reducing the impact on neighboring residents and businesses, because our quality of life matters.

  2. Mandatory Installation of Carbon Scrubber Technology: We advocate for requiring the best available carbon scrubber technology in all cannabis greenhouses. This proven solution is crucial for maintaining our county's air quality.

  3. Enhanced Enforcement and Oversight: Effective regulation requires robust enforcement. We call for increased funding and resources to ensure that cannabis operations comply with established standards and community expectations.

  4. Per-Acre Tax Method: Our county currently uses an unsustainable taxation method. We call for a per acre tax on all cannabis, making it easier to track and ensuring that the people get their fair share.
